Billie Bumbler

Flash forward to 2010. Now I am supermom to a beautiful Chocolate Dapple Dachshund named Billie Bumbler. She is only two weeks away from her first birthday.

I found Billie's infant puppy pictures on the internet and fell in love. We brought her home when she was 8 weeks old, only a week before Christmas. She was the life of all our Christmas parties, and ended up getting more gifts than my husband and me combined!

I had just finished reading the book "How To Raise the Perfect Dog" by Cesar Millan, the Dog Whisperer. So when Billie came into our lives, I was all about becoming the ultimate pack leader. Here is where I admit that it didn't take an hour before this dog had me eating out of her paw. This is the start of a beautiful relationship between my "Perfect Dog" and me.

How It All Began

I'm Brianna, and indeed, the girl who loves wieners.

It all started in 1990 with two dachshunds. Pearl and Spike. At the time my mother worked for a vet clinic as a dog groomer. One day she was faced with an opportunity to change lives as two sweet wiener dogs were dropped off to be put "to sleep." The reason is unknown... but one thing was clear; These dogs were not ready for that big sleep. She tucked them in her jacket and left work using the back door that day. As you can imagine, the vet himself was pleased to avoid an unnecessary death.

Later that evening I would meet my first love, Spike the wiener dog. We found homes for both dogs in less than a week. Pearl was scooped up by a young family that was ready, willing and excited to make Pearl the Queen of their home. Spike, well, with a little pleading by a 5-year-old me, became part of our family and the beginning of my strange love for wieners.
